Never-ending Birthday

I had SUCH a great birthday this year! My birthday was on Tuesday, the 10th, and what better way to celebrate than being in Vegas with good friends & my wonderful husband! We went to Vegas last weekend and came home on Tuesday--we had an amazing time! The other couple that came with us had never been to Vegas before...so we knew they were in for a treat! Mike & I have our favorite spots that include casinos, restaurants, and wine bars and we were able to visit them all. Our friends LOVED everything we did and overall it was a fabulous time! Me & Courtney got birthday massages while we were there (her b-day is the day after mine), they were much needed after many long walks from casino to casino. Other than the trip & massage, Mike also got me and iPhone and a coffee maker that I've wanted for some time now!

Thursday night my mom had us over for birthday dinner, tomorrow we are heading out with my MIL to Primos to celebrate our birthdays (hers was last week too) and next week I'm going with a friend to dinner on Monday night for birthday, another friend on Tuesday and then on Thursday we leave for Nebraska (where my dad lives)...for yet another birthday celebration! Crazy!

Last night we went to see Mike Birbiglia at the House of Blues with our great friends. He is a hilarious comedian...if you get the chance, definitely check him out! We had a great time!


Tonight we went to a wedding rehearsal for Mike's step-sister. Her & her husband got married 2 weeks ago in Central Park in New York (the day before the groom ran the New York City Marathon). Tonight the food, drinks and company was wonderful! We are so thankful for such a great family!

My Creative Side??

My neighbor & I decided to take a one day oil painting class. I have never painted ANYthing before and I was more just going for the fun of it. It was a 3 hour class held at the local HS. An older guy was the 'art teacher' and he walked us through the painting step-by-step. It was so fun. He was the sweetest guy and would walk around helping everybody (especially us, since we had no clue what we were doing). He holds the classes once a month and it's $40 each class. He supplies the canvas, brushes, paints and most importantly...the instructions. Here is my final painting. I was pretty impressed with myself! The picture didn't come out very clear but if you look closely it's a painting of a waterfall in the distance with a rainbow to the left of it. The long stream of water (with stones at the bottom). There are tress in the far distance and up close trees too...even one tilted in front of the waterfall. I look forward to attending his class again and learning the different techniques of oil painting...I might have found a new hobby?!? :o)
