100th Post!

Do people even track the number of posts they post?? Not sure, but for some reason I just noticed that this is my 100th! Yay!?!?

This weekend was wonderful! Friday I came home from work to a beautiful bouquet of roses from my husband AND he cooked dinner for us!! We watched a movie and relaxed the rest of the night.

Saturday we went to the 1st showing of The Ugly Truth--it was just alright, I think I liked the popcorn the most. :)


Later that afternoon we went to Mike's moms house. We met Mike's step-brother for the 1st time. I know, I know...kinda weird, especially since Mike's mom has been married to her husband for like...12 years!!! All this time and they have never met for one reason or another. Anyway, his name is Jay and he has a wife and a teenager stepson. They were all SO sweet and it was wonderful to meet them! Our family keeps getting bigger and bigger, I love it!

Today we had wonderful friends come over and we enjoyed a fun day on the lake. It was overcast all day but somehow I managed to get another layer of sun on my face...I'm thinking this is why I'm so exhausted and about to hit the sack!!

Get-Away Weekend

Mike & I continued the celebration of our 3 year wedding anniversary this weekend. We took a short road trip (just over an hour) to Grapevine, TX.

We stopped at a few wineries on our way since it is...Grapevine, TX. :o)

After these few stops we headed to the Gaylord Hotel. It was so beautiful. The service was extraordinary and our room was amazing! We had a Suite that had a living room, a conference room, a few TVs and a balcony that overlooked the 4-acre indoor 'river-walk' atrium. It was wonderful!!!

We had reservations at the fine dining restaurant Old Hickory Steakhouse. It was delicious. I got salmon and Mike got the delicious filet. They surprised us with berry-topped creme brulee for dessert.


After dinner we headed to the Glass Cactus--a night club on the hotel's property. Geeez, we haven't been to a night club in FOREVER. It definitely wasn't our 'scene' but it was definitely a fun people-watching spot...so we made the best of it while we listened to poppy music. Ha!

We had such an amazing weekend. The hotel really made it feel like we weren't in Dallas...it was a nice get-away weekend! Cheers to many more anniversaries with my wonderful husband!!

3 YEARS!!

Michael & I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary on Tuesday! It was a great day. He made reservations at The Palm and we shared 4lbs of lobster...it just melted in my mouth! MMM!

There is a lady that we came across on the internet who replicates wine lables on canvas as a painting. He surprised me with my favorite wine as a painting. I LOVE it! We are reorganizing our study and it will soon be a 'wine room', so this painting will go perfect in there! I can't wait to start that project! He also got me a mini statue from our favorite artist Michael Goddard. I loved it all!!

To celebrate even more...this weekend we will be heading to Grapevine, TX and will stay at The Gaylord Texan Hotel.

We will visit a few wineries that are nearby and then enjoy a relaxing weekend at the beautiful hotel, eat at the fine dining restaurant, and have a drink at the Glass Cactus! Ahhh, I can't wait!

Finally!!

I've been wanting to change out the mirror in our guest bathroom for a long time now. I either wanted to make a frame around it or just put a whole new mirror up. Mike found this mirror in our extra closet that I totally forgot we had...this was the perfect fit for our bathroom! This took us probably about 7 minutes & it was FREE! (Since we already had the mirror & nails!) Check out the before & after...

Happy 4th!!

I'm excited to have a long weekend! I feel like I didn't get much of one last weekend since we drove to Houston and back for a short wedding trip. It was great to see my dad & step-mom though!

This weekend we will get out on the lake with our waverunners a few times, I can't wait! Tomorrow evening we are going to a local winery for snacks & wine with our neighbors and then to see fireworks here in Rockwall. Fun! And starting Sunday we will be watching my mom's dog, Hunter, for about a week while she is is in Austin for heart surgery. I'm really nervous for her. We are praying that everything will go smooth!

I'm so thankful for my wonderful & encouraging husband! I've been pretty stressed recently and he came home with a boquet of fresh flowers and my favorite dessert--both from Central Market, my fave!
