I am so sad...
My sweet Grandmother, Phyllis, passed away this evening. :o( Ever since my Grandfather passed about 3 years ago she has been living in an assisted living home about a mile away from my parents house. She made so many friends, she loved her 2 room suite, she was so spoiled, she enjoyed her glass of wine with goldfish every night, she also played card games, watched movies, won many games of b-i-n-g-o, loved to watch me and my mom put up her decorations throughout the year (Christmas tree with a million ornaments, Thanksgiving wreath, Easter baskets) she loved to feel "in season", she was so loved and now she will reunite with her loving husband!!!
I am so sad...

Happy Valentines Day!!!
Mike & I had reservations last night at our favorite restaurant, Rafain. We planned on going after work since the restaurant is on that side of town. Well, my day started off a bit weird yesterday, I felt nauseous all day and had a total loss of appetite. Unfortunately, because of this we had to cancel dinner. I ended up coming straight home from work while Mike worked a couple more hours. I walked in the door to an amazing set-up of my Valentines gift. (I was supposed to see it AFTER the V-day dinner that we cancelled, whoops!) I felt horrible since he wasn't there to see my reaction and tears after I read his card! Here are a few pics...

This is the card Mike MADE me from my card supplies. How cute?!?!

Here is the inside of the card..."To my Wife, our Love is Picture Perfect and you bring me tremendous Joy each and every day! I will always Cherish our life together! Your loving husband, forever...Michael"
Of course I started crying like a baby and was even more sad that he wasn't there so I could smother him with kisses.

Pink Tulips on the counter top with the spotlight pointed on them...perfect!

This is a champagne holder that I've had my eyes on!! I can't wait to display my favorite bottle!

And last but not least...my wonderful husband got me the pink-patch Coach that I've had my eyes on too!
Oh, he also bought yummy desserts from Central Market (not pictured)--creme brulee for him and chocolate pot-de-creme for me!!! Our faves! Geeez, I'm so lucky to have such an amazing husband!
This is what I got him...

1993 La Grande Dame Champagne
This is a bottle to add to his "save for a super special day" collection...he loved it!
We were able to delay our reservations to Sunday night...if I have my appetite back. Although I was planning on going to see a movie with my mom and go into work for a few hours on Sunday too. Sounds like it will be a busy day!
My co-worker asked me to make a Valentines Day card for his girlfriend...here is final product. He loved it & couldn't wait to give it to her! :o)

Salsa & Cards
After attending the cooking class this past weekend it put me in the mood to make stuff...
I remembered that my Mother-In-Law bought me a Magic Bullet a few years ago and I've NEVER used it. Gulp!! Soooo, today was the day! I made homemade salsa!!! It turned out SOOOOO GOOD & spicy...just like it like it!!! The photo below was my "practice round"...I ended up making a bunch more to go with our fajitas and still had a ton left over! I told my co-worker that I would bring it to work tomorrow for our afternoon snack! Can't wait! :o)

Apparently my photo skills are horrible (the letters are silver so I couldn't get the flash not to reflect)...but this is a birthday card I made for a friend.

This is a card I made recently for my step-dad's birthday. I figured the blak & gold was masculine enough in order to put the flower on it. heh! :o)

Recently...
Geez, it seems like forever since I've posted. I haven't really been in the mood...I don't know why? Anyhow, this weekend was great. Yesterday my mom and I went to a cooking class at the Dallas Farmers Market. I love going down there...other than the cooking classes, they sell tons of fresh veggies, fruits, honey, spices, herbs...it's wonderful! Yesterday we learned how to make Parsnip Soup, Shrimp Ravioli & Chocolate Cheesecake w/ OREO cookie crust! MMMM!! Everything was SOOO delicious!!!
Last night my BFF Casey and her family were supposed to come over--BUT they ended up getting sick. (the flu & some other bugs are EVERYWHERE around here these days!) We have been scrubbing our hands recently and we are thankful we haven't got it yet!! :o) Anyway, so instead of playing cards with our friends...we ended up going to church last night (so we could sleep in this morning)!! We went to dinner after that and then came home and watched 3 episodes of Grey's Anatomy!
This morning I slept in until 10am!! It was great! Mike went to the local donut shop and got us kolaches for breakfast. MMM! Well, back to watching HGTV...I'm pretty much addicted! :o) Enjoy your Sunday!
